H-E-B Feast of Sharing 2018

WHAT IS FEAST OF SHARING: Join H-E-B and United Way for Greater Austin to volunteer for the 29th annual Feast of Sharing! Feast of Sharing, the largest community Thanksgiving meal in Austin, provides Thanksgiving dinners to over 14,000 Central Texans each year with the help of over 1,400 volunteers just like you!
WHEN AND WHERE: The event will take place at the Palmer Events Center (PEC) located at 900 Barton Springs Road on Tuesday, November 20th. The first shift of volunteers will work from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and the second shift will work from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. All second shift volunteers are expected to assist with cleanup until 9 p.m. Please be sure to arrive on time for your shift! Volunteer check in will close at 7:15pm. Volunteers arriving after this time are welcome to enjoy dinner as a guest but will not be able to volunteer.
PARKING: There is no volunteer parking at the Palmer Events Center (PEC) garage. Free parking will be available at the 2nd Street Austin Convention Center Parking Garage located at 201 E. 2nd Street with free shuttle service to the Palmer Events Center. The shuttle will run continuously from 2:30-9:30pm. Please leave enough time to park and take the shuttle to the PEC before you are expected to begin volunteering. We encourage volunteers to carpool, take public transportation, or be dropped off at the PEC.
VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION: Every volunteer must sign up individually, including minors. The minimum age for all volunteers is 14 years old and many volunteer positions are restricted to 18 years and older. Please read the task you sign up for carefully to ensure you meet the minimum age requirements. Every minor must volunteer for the same task as their accompanying adult. In addition, no children under the age of 14 are able to accompany you while you volunteer, please plan accordingly.
WAIVER OF LIABILITY: As part of sign up, you are required to read and agree to the Feast of Sharing volunteer waiver. Your electronic agreement to the waiver in the sign up process ensures that you will not need to bring a paper copy with you. If you are accompanying a minor, you will need to fill out a paper copy at the event to ensure each minor is paired with their accompanying adult. You can print it out in advance and bring it filled out to speed up your check in process.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND:
- There is no team sign up option.
- Please do not bring any personal items with you as there will be no storage space available.
- Make sure to wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
- Just as H-E-B partners will wear their matching red shirts, volunteers are encouraged to wear their own company/team t-shirts to the event.
