Organization Profile

Capital City Village is an Austin-based nonprofit dedicated to helping seniors stay in their homes and communities for as long as possible, a concept called aging in place and community. Members, volunteers and professional service providers of Capital City Village, a "virtual" village, join in pursuit of accomplishing one mission: support Austin seniors to live safely and comfortably in their own homes and communities while remaining healthy and active. CCV offers its members a broad range of enriching social activities and informational programs (most free or low-cost) on aging issues including topics on health and well-being, technology, and local resources for seniors and their families; Supportive services - including transportation, technology help, minor home fix-its and more - provided by trusted volunteers (all volunteers are background-checked); and Referral to member-recommended professional service providers such as handypersons, plumbers, home care providers, etc. - many offering discounts to village members. Capital City Village offers a sliding scale for membership based on household income making Village participation open to seniors of all incomes.
