ESL Teacher Assistant
Join us and help low-income families get ahead by improving their English!
Learning basic English is essential to the success of our residents; without this skill many will find it hard to get a job, pay their bill or even decipher the bus schedule. Foundation Communities’ ESL classes are available for free to anyone in the community ages 18+. You do not need to be bilingual to help! Classes are taught entirely in English to accommodate learners from a variety of language backgrounds.
Classes are held Monday through Thursday each week from 9-11 am and 6:30-8:30 pm at our Sierra Vista learning center (South Austin) and Trails at Vintage Creek Learning Center (Northeast Austin), and from 6:30-8:30 pm at our Lakeline Station Learning Center (Northwest Austin).
- Time Commitment: We ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of one class per week (about 2 hours) per semester (summer, fall and/or spring).
- ESL Class Locations: Here’s an interactive map of our two ESL class locations - http://foundcom.org/education/esl/
Spring orientations are currently full. Our next round of volunteer orientations will be held in June. Connect with us now to receive notification when registration opens for the summer term.
Age Minimum (with Adult): 18+, Minimum Age:18+
